International Symposium for Peace 2023

This annual symposium gathers members from Korea, Taiwan, and Japan in efforts to shed light on modern East Asian history that remains unresolved today.

I documented the cooperation between nationalities (including stateless people) and generations to honor victims who died during Japan’s colonization of South Korea. My photographs feature historical sites where remains of victims who sacrificed their lives during the colonial period were found.

As a community made up of professors, activists, and even children, we were able to create artworks to honor victims in efforts to alleviate the grief of bereaved families.
