Another Me

My mother was diagnosed with High-grade Serous Carcinoma (HGSC), stage 3C ovarian cancer, on August 1, 2023. She received operations - removing her uterus, cervix, and both ovaries and fallopian tubes - and 6 rounds of chemotherapy, followed by ongoing targeted chemotherapy today. 

My mother is not only my biggest supporter, but also the strongest person I know. Seeing her in a state of vulnerability and unimaginable pain was an opportunity for me to embody the strength she has so clearly demonstrated my entire life. I documented her journey: accompanying her throughout chemotherapy sessions, hospital visits, and daily walks around the neighborhood park.

Acting as her primary caretaker, I felt as if I was caring for another me.
